..this new job will almost be like another deployment..I should be thankful, so many are having such a hard time finding jobs right now.

I'm not going to let the obstacles get to me..and I was facing a solid year or longer without ever seeing his face..he'll be home a few days a week at least..we shall survive.

But that doesn't mean that I won't miss him. :(

..with my Brother, while I was doing him a FAVOR for FREE..all because he believes firmly that a cat would NEVER attack a dog.

That man will die a tool.

I don't know why I keep falling for his crap..sigh.

He is family and fortunately and unfortunately, to the write person they are a blessing and a weakness. I find I fall for some of the most ignorant things, blinded by my love for them.

Sad Today

20:40 Apr 22 2011
Times Read: 487

It's strange how profoundly sadness can show in physical symptoms. I'm lethargic and achy, tired and weak..feel like crawling back into bed and never getting out.

Someone I care about deeply is moving away. I've known for some time, but they are leaving in less than a week now, and I guess it just slammed me in the face today.

I'll get through it, I'm sure of that, but the sadness has ruined my plans for the day. I just can't find the energy to do much of anything productive.

Hope tomorrow is a better day..

Today Was A Healing Day

04:21 Apr 16 2011
Times Read: 495

Yesterday I was pretty sick, I let myself get angry at the "wasted" day. It sort of made it worse, and hopefully the next time it happens I can have a better attitude about it.

Today made me reflect on how ridiculous it was that I had gotten so upset. Yes, being ill is unpleasant, and I need to do everything within my power to prevent it, but when it happens; it isn't the end of the world.

What was wonderful about today was that my family really came through for me and gave me the "healing" day that I needed so badly. Everyone gave me the space to get myself right again.

I've always had that "readjustment period" after I've been ill, that time to fall back into my routine and not fall apart doing it. Sometimes when I'm not doing so good, it takes me awhile for that weak and confused feeling to fade away, and I couldn't be more thankful of them for being so kind and treating me with such tender-loving care.

I only hope I can find a way in the coming days to repay them for their generous patience and loving understanding. :D

So, today was a healing day in more ways than one. And I am so pleased to call this family mine..

I regularly provide transitional housing for VC members.

04:35 Apr 15 2011
Times Read: 502

I own a Church and my husband and I have been providing transitional housing/lodging for members of the VC since 2005. It has been brought to my attention that there may be some question as to the validity of my account based on the fact that we share online access with those living here.

I only wish I could remedy this, as I understand that linking IP addresses is one of the few ways that the legitimacy of accounts can be verified. I haven't been a member here long, and I shall continue searching out a way to contact someone in charge, but for now..should there need to be verification..I have webcam, telephone..and if needed or possible, would be willing to give a tour of my home and an personal intro to each of the members living here.

I don't want to cause problems, but I simply cannot afford to give each individual their own internet service so that the IP addresses might differ. Anyway I can help with the verification, save that, I am more than willing to do.

Should a member of Admin here see this, please DO contact me so that I may clear this up. I am an Admin elsewhere myself, and I know how much of a pain things like these can be.

Thank you for any and all help I might recieve in this matter.

What kind of church?

The building itself is a Church, and we are also a Church. We consider ourselves to be something like universalists. There are members here who ascribe to many different Paths, but we welcome ALL Paths.

We ascribe to what we call the Golden Twinkie theory. Essentially it equates to the idea that you can be an athiest and still be a member, what you personally believe is yours, we're about your freedom to believe it. :D

"If you believe that the Great Golden Twinkie is the key to your spiritual strength and salvation, forgive me for chuckling abit, but how do we honor the Great Golden Twinkie."

Do I believe in the Great Golden Twinkie? ...um..No. (lol)

What I believe doesn't matter to you personally, nor your beliefs to me personally. However, there is much that we can accomplish as a group in being tolerant, of respecting YOUR right to believe in your own twinkie..or no twinkie at all.

There is much, should we choose to, that we can do for one another when the cause arises..and even more that we can do for ourselves when we are accepting that our beliefs do not have to belong to a group to be valid. But that as an individual, we can group together for common causes.

More than anything, this Church is about our Community, we are attempting to find ways to help out local Community. Everyone here is struggling abit in this economy. The area is much lacking in a pulse as well. It's our hope to collectively find solutions to the problems it is facing and work towards it's revitalization.

We don't take monetary donations, we pass around a "time card" wherein those inclined sign up to work on efforts the group has decided we'd like to contribute our collective efforts towards.

A Fright Today

14:48 Apr 04 2011

Walking my daughter and our family pet to her school today, our neighbor's dog came running up snarling, I thought for sure he was going to attack our dog. I didn't even think, just kept my eye on the other dog and tried to keep my body between them. (Wound up on my rear-end..lol.)

Luckily the dog was actually very friendly, just vocal, he only wanted to sniff our dog. I was terrified the whole time because I couldn't see my daughter to make sure she was safe..but I just had to keep my eyes on that dog.

I got up, accepted the neighbor's apology and started right on walking again once I determined no one was hurt (but my stupid elbow from hitting the sidewalk, that thing really smarts about now too.) We had to get her to school on time, so I didn't even have a chance to get my heart out of my throat.

I know what to do during a dog attack, thankfully this wasn't one of those. I really hope that I never have to face a real one, especially with my daughter there. It perturbs me a little that with the leash laws in my city this dog was on the backporch on a choker chain attached to a rope.

No tags, no license, no collar..no one keeping an eye on them. Not only do they need to be worrying about the fact that he could get loose and get hit by a car or otherwise hurt..they don't seem to mind that half the neighborhood would call the Dog Warden on them..and being that the poor thing is a pittbull..the pound would have automatically have put him down because of his breed without a license.

I don't know how people can be so irresponsible with their pets. Our pet is a member of the family. We take every precaution to keep him safe and sound. I do hope that today will have inspired out neighbors to do the same.

Whew, what a morning!

One would hope but I find it doubtful.

A few weeks ago our dog Shadow was hit by a truck, not to worry she is on the mend. It was one of those things, she just got away from us for a minute.

The driver never even stopped. We live in a rural "neighborhood" in the middle of farmland and one of our neighbors saw the whole thing. My dogs are always supervised when outside and Shadow is usually on a leash until we can build a fence; this as you must know is for their safety and my piece of mind.

My neighbor by comparison lets his pug and Yorkie run around unsupervised. They stop traffic in the road, poo in my yard and wander as they please, this puts themselves and my dogs at risk. Did seeing my 30 lb Terrier mix get hit by a truck teach this man anything? Nope. The dogs are still running loose and unsupervised.

It is sad when people show absolutely no regard for the domesticated animals they chose to take responsiblity for. I do hope Shadow mends well, and I'm sorry to hear about the accident. That driver should have at least stopped to check on their welfare and sought out the owner. So sad..
